ABRACE – Associação Brasileira de Grandes Consumidores Industriais de Energia e de Consumidores Livres responsáveis pelo consumo de aproximadamente 20% da energia elétrica produzida no País, o que corresponde a 45% do consumo industrial de energia. Demandam, também, mais de 40% do gás e do óleo combustível comercializados.
Os chamados energointensivos, que representam grande parte das associadas e utilizam energia na produção de aço, alumínio, cimento, produtos de metalurgia, entre outros, assumem papel fundamental no desenvolvimento econômico e social do País e, dado o alto consumo necessário para viabilizar suas produções, têm na energia um insumo vital para seus negócios.
IECA – The Industrial Energy Consumers of America is a nonpartisan association of leading manufacturing companies with $1.0 trillion in annual sales, over 2,900 facilities nationwide, and with more than 1.4 million employees worldwide.
It is an organization created to promote the interests of manufacturing companies through advocacy and collaboration for which the availability, use and cost of energy, power or feedstock play a significant role in their ability to compete in domestic and world markets.
IECA membership represents a diverse set of industries including: chemical, plastics, steel, iron ore, aluminum, paper, food processing, fertilizer, insulation, glass, industrial gases, pharmaceutical, building products, brewing, independent oil refining, and cement.
IFIEC Europe – International Federation of Industrial Energy Consumers is an international non-profit association of scientific nature, established in 1989 and governed as association internationale sans but lucrative (aisbl) unter Belgian law with its premises in Brussels / Belgium.
IFIEC Europe represents the interests of industrial energy users in Europe for whom energy is a significant component of production costs and a key for competitiveness in their activities in both Europe and throughout the world.
IFIEC Europe was founded on the belief that competitive energy supply, responsible use of energy and consumer choice and flexibility, are the necessary ground rules for competitive and sustainable industrial activity in Europe.
IFIEC Europe represents 16 national European federations that comprise - on a cross-sectoral level - those industrial sectors for which energy is a significant component of production costs. IFIEC´s membership represents a diverse set of industries including: aluminium, automobile, brewing, cement, chemical, copper, fertilizer, food, glas, industrial gases, metals, paper, pharmaceutical, plastics and steel.
Fernand Felzinger
is President of IFIEC World.
Fernand headed the Energy Departments of Rhodia Chemical Group until 2002 and then ArcelorMittal until 2009, in both cases, on a worldwide basis. Before 2000, he held various managing positions in Rhône-Poulenc Group. Fernand has been IFIEC Europe´s President between 2011 - 2015.
He holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Centrale (Paris), a Master of Sciences from Stanford University (California) and a MBA from INSEAD (Fontainebleau).
Paul Cicio
is President of IECA - Industrial Energy Consumers of America.
Paul N. Cicio has been the President of the Industrial Energy Consumers of America (IECA) since its founding. Previous to IECA, Mr. Cicio was employed by The Dow Chemical Company where he held a number of diverse business and public affairs assignments. He retired from Dow Chemical with almost 30 years of service.
Mr. Cicio graduated from Youngstown State University with a BS in Business Administration and Economics.
Annette Loske
Annette Loske has been Managing Director at VIK German Federation of Industrial Energy Consumers between 2009 – 2015. Before she has been working for the German federation since 2001 as an expert on energy politics and economics. Prior Annette worked for the oil production company DEMINEX (later VEBA Oil). Here she was active in project management for oil/gas exploration and production projects in Russia and the CIS.
Annette has a doctor’s degree in philology from the University in Münster. Furthermore, she has got a Master of Business Administration from the Open University Business School in the UK.
Peter Claes
is Vice-President and Chair of IFIEC Europe´s Working Electricity and General Manager of FEBELIEC / Belgium.
Peter has been active in IFIEC and other European and national industry associations for almost 20 years, and is a former President of IFIEC Europe. He concentrates mainly on the implementation of the European Target Models for natural gas and electricity, and on representing IFIEC on key strategic and regulatory issues. Peter also chairs the Working Party Electricity of IFIEC Europe and is General Manager of FEBELIEC – Federation of Belgian Industrial Energy Consumers.
Peter holds Master of Business Economics from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
Friedrich Dittmar
is IFIEC World´s Treasurer
Fritz is founding member of IFIEC World and honorary Board member as well as founding member of IFIEC Europe. He worked at Hoechst AG headquarter in Frankfurt / Germany in the economic and energy policy as well as international relations unit.
Fritz studied general economics in Würzburg and at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Permanent Representative to the UN – Jean-Louis van Planta
is IFIEC World´s Permament Representative to the UN.
Jean-Louis van Planta is a Swiss lawyer specialised in commercial, company and international law. He was former President of EKV – the Energy Consumer Association of Switzerland.
He studied law in Basel / Switzerland from which he holds a Ph.D. in law. Additionally he received a Master of Law from Columbia University New York.
